UTROGESTAN 

What is the medicine for

UTROGESTAN – This is progesterone, a naturally occurring female sex hormone, which must be supplemented during assisted reproduction. This medicine acts on the lining of the uterus and helps you get pregnant and maintain your pregnancy.

How to store the medicine

Do not store at temperatures above 25 °C. Store the product in the original packaging in order to protect it from light. Protect from frost.

How to take the medicine

Medicines must always be taken as directed by the doctor. Application starts following the collection of eggs (either from you or from your donor) and continues until the pregnancy test. If pregnancy occurs, application continues during the first trimester. The dose is increased following embryo transfer.

The pack contains 30 pills, which may be used vaginally or orally. 

Always wash your hands before using the medicine. 

The medication is more effective when applied deep within the vagina.  If you experience difficulty in vaginal administration, take the pills orally. But it should be noted that the effectiveness of the medication is significantly reduced when taken orally.

Side effects

Side effects are not common with this medicine. You may experience e.g. headaches, nausea, faintness, uterine spasm, vaginal bleeding, or tenderness of the breasts.
